LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) - Parents will have a chance to give feedback on the newelementary boundaries for the Lafayette School Corporation(LSC).
Oakland Elementary will close at the end of the school year. Theschool district recently decided to redraw boundaries to relieveovercrowding the original recommendations would create.
LSC Deputy Superintendent Robert Foreman said Oakland studentswill now go to Edgelea, Miami and Miller Elementary Schools nextfall.
"It gives a capacity of 82 to 87 percent. A kind of optimumcapacity is 85 percent. We won't have any schools above 90percent," Foreman explained.
LSC will provide transportation to all Oakland students going toa new school. Parents can comment on the boundary changes during aschool board meeting Monday, October 12 at 7:00 p.m. at the HiattAdministration Center on Cason Street.
