LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) - A fashion show inside the Lafayette Theater Sunday night brings in a full house and it was all for a good cause.
It was the 2013 "Hair Wars", a competition that put six area hair salons up against one another.
Competing salons were judged on a number of different categories from best make-up, to best outfit and finally best overall look.
The event helped the YWCA to raise money and awareness for domestic abuse. Event organizer Angela Allen said there is always a need for community support.
"They have great programs for the Lafayette community," Allen said. "So if you get the chance to step out and help, step out and help your Lafayette community."
The fashion show raised $6,400 for the YWCA. The winning salon was Angela's Images. The salon was awarded a trophy which employees said will be on display in their salon.
As Purdue classes end for the semester, campus bar representatives and local law enforcement met to discuss what they noticed during the semester.
More than 45 kids got a special Christmas gift from the mayor of Lafayette.
Authorities make two arrests Monday night in connection with a counterfeiting case.
