WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) - Drivers in West Lafayette should be aware of more construction-related traffic changes beginning on Monday.
Summer lane restrictions will get underway on May 13 on Northwestern Avenue. It's part of the Northwestern Corridor Project. The City of West Lafayette is providing information on detours on its website.
Also, according to the Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT), beware of overnight lane closures on U.S. 231. From 7 p.m. until 7 a.m., northbound lanes that connect to the bridge that ties into U.S. 52 will be closed. Southbound lanes of the off ramp from U.S. 52 to Northwestern Ave. will also be closed during that time.
Access to Neil Armstrong Drive will be available to local traffic only.
The closures are needed for work on a $3.2 million resurfacing project. The project will resurface U.S. 231 from South River Road to U.S. 52. INDOT said it hopes to complete this phase of construction in August.
The Tippecanoe Plaza is going under new ownership.
A shooting on Lafayette's south side is under investigation.
It was a packed house for the pay-off of a project two years in the making.
