TIPPECANOE COUNTY, Ind. (WLFI) - A Lafayette man has declared his candidacy for the Tippecanoe County Coroner's position.
Philip Fisher signed a written consent to fill a ballot vacancy.
Fisher said he's been a funeral director for 50 years and has owned funeral homes in Attica, Williamsport and Lebanon for 35 years.
He also served as the Warren County Coroner for 16 years.
Former Tippecanoe County Coroner, Dr. David Avolt, died in a car crash last month.
His wife, Donna Avolt, also a former coroner, filed paperwork last month to run for the position in November.
