LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) - The 8th Annual GermanFest took place in downtown Lafayette on Saturday. The event was hosted by Saint Boniface Catholic Church.
The festival included food, music and a $10,000 raffle.
Father Tim Alkire, the pastor of St. Boniface said it was the perfect way to celebrate the church's history.
"I think they love the music, people love the music because they can get out on the street, dance, have a great time and then they can have some special St. Boniface beer," said Alkire.
GermanFest was free to attend and donations were accepted.
Indiana Governor Mike Pence (R) proposed a pre-K voucher program as part of his 2014 agenda. The program would give underprivileged children access to pre-K programs.
Several generations gathered Saturday to remember a day that will live in infamy. The day marked 72 years since the attack on Pearl Harbor.
