MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WLFI) - The suspect involved in the Advance America robbery has been taken into custody in Alabama.
According to the Lafayette police department, Emily J. Karnes was arrested Thursday morning in Montgomery, Alabama. She was charged with two counts of being armed with a deadly weapon and one count of theft.
Earlier this week, Police reported that Karnes entered the Lafayette Advance America Cash Advance store on Sagamore Parkway around 11:30 a.m Monday, showed a handgun and demanded cash. She then fled from the scene with an undisclosed amount of cash. About 90 minutes after that robbery, it is believed that she also robbed another cash advance business in Brownsburg.
Karnes is currently being held in Alabama pending extradition.
