WARREN COUNTY, Ind. (WLFI) - Two Illinois burglary suspects are in custody after leading the Vermilion County Sheriff's Office on a chase that was momentarily in Warren County.
According to Warren County Sheriff Rusty Hart, the suspects came into Warren County and led police by Seeger Jr./Sr. High School.
MSD of Warren County Superintendent Ralph Shrader said they received word of the chase just before 11:45 a.m. and put all of their schools in lockdown.
Shrader said they never felt any danger for their students at any schools, but this was a good opportunity to practice a lockdown.
The lockdown was lifted within 10 minutes.
Hart said the sheriff's office did dispatch deputies to assist in the chase. However, none of them got involved because the chase had already been led back into Illinois.
Hart said the suspects were caught about three miles from the state line.
