LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) - Lafayette firefighters found a woman unconscious in her bathroom while responding to a reported fire at Georgetown South Apartments on Shoshone Drive Wednesday morning.
It's unknown if the woman or a neighbor made the 911 call just before 7 a.m. The woman began breathing on her own once placed inside an ambulance that was taken to St. Elizabeth Central Hospital.
Firefighters determined the fire started in the kitchen of the woman's third floor apartment where she was found alone. The woman's name and injuries are not being released at this time. The investigation into the cause of the fire is ongoing.
