LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) - South Ninth Street closed down Friday night after Lafayette police say a driver hit three parked cars, then tried to flee from the scene.
Officers say Jessie Puente-Gallardo, 25, was the driver. Police say alcohol is believed to be a factor.
They say Puente-Gallardo faces preliminary charges of operating while intoxicated and fleeing the scene. Police say he could face another charge of being a habitual traffic offender.
Officers say South Ninth Street was closed down between Kossuth Street and State Street for about a half an hour.
No injuries were reported.
The incident remains under investigation.
