MONON, Ind. (WLFI) - A major area highway reopened late Thursday night after a minivan crashed head-on into a semi.
It happened shortly before 7:30 p.m., just south of the intersection with U.S. 421 and State Road 16 intersection in Monon, in White County.
Witnesses say Robin Gustafson, of Monticello, was driving north on 421 and was left of the center line when she crashed into a semi turning south onto 421 from 16.
She was taken to IU White Memorial Hospital, then airlifted to another hospital. Her condition is unknown at this time.
This is the second head-on collision this month at that intersection.
"This is probably one of our busiest intersections in town," says town marshal Roger Young.
U.S. 421 was closed for more than three hours as crews cleared the scene.
The crash remains under investigation.
