TIPPECANOE COUNTY, Ind. (WLFI) - Tippecanoe County officially welcomed a new juvenile magistrate Tuesday.
Crystal Sanders was sworn in Tuesday afternoon. Judge Faith Graham appointed Sanders in December. Graham took over in Superior Court 3 after Loretta Rush was appointed to the Indiana Supreme Court by Mitch Daniels.
Sanders earned her undergraduate degree from Purdue and is an Indiana University law school alum. She served as part-time Deputy Public Defender for Tippecanoe County youth. She is experienced in family law cases like custody and juvenile delinquency.
"The area of law that I'm going to be practicing in is just absolutely my passion. I've practiced in lots of area of the law with my private practice and as a public defender but this is the area of law that I have a passion for and I'm excited to put that passion to use," said Sanders.
Graham said Sanders is known in the legal community for her commitment to children and families in Tippecanoe County.
