WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) - Construction continues on a new fire station in West Lafayette.
The new station will be located on Kalberer Road across from the barn currently housing fire crews at Cumberland Park.
Mayor John Dennis tells NewsChannel 18 the weather is a big help in keeping the construction on schedule.
"We're really pleased with the progress we've made on this project. Normally when you do a project of this scale, you can anticipate some disturbances and some delays. Because of the weather, we've been able to move forward at a pretty rapid pace," said Mayor Dennis.
Work is expected to be completed some time in November.
The new facility is estimated to cost 2.9 million dollars.
