LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) - Area community members took part in National Day to Demand Action against guns.
Nearly 50 people gathered at the Tippecanoe County Courthouse Thursday evening to rally against gun violence.
The national event was sponsored by Mayors Against Illegal Guns. The recently formed local chapter of Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America helped organize Lafayette's event.
Nine-year-old Sidney Wasko was in attendance with his mother. He's already written a letter to lawmakers about how the Sandy Hook shootings have affected him.
"As an older brother of a 5 year old, I am absolutely terrified about what could happen at my brother's preschool. I would be devastated if my brother was killed. I demand action," said Sidney.
