LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) - Hundreds spent the Labor Day holiday at Hanna Fest in Lafayette. The annual event featured music, food and fun for the entire community.
Hanna Fest helps raise money for the Hanna Center, which offers a variety of programs and assistance for people when they need it most.
NAACP member Dr. Deanna McMillan said the Hanna Center gives kids a sense of community.
"It gives them an opportunity to do something constructive and learn about the opportunities there are for them to participate in the community at a very young age," said McMillan.
Hanna Fest included a classic car show, a basketball tournament and live music.
As temperatures drop, the use of homeless shelters go up.
