WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) - Columbian Park Zoo is celebrating Halloween festivities with a few tricks and treats.
The annual Boo at the Zoo event kicked off Wednesday night.
The three-day-event attracts thousands of visitors to take part in pumpkin carvings, costume contests and to check out the animals at the zoo.
Columbian Park Zoo Director Claudine Laufman said the event and activities offer visitors a different perspective of the zoo.
"I think having the opportunity to visit their zoo during the summer months is a lot different than visiting it in the fall," said Laufman. "I think this staff and all of the volunteers really put forth a tremendous amount of effort and really transformed this place."
Boo at the Zoo will run through Friday evening.
Tickets are $8 per person. Children under two get in free.
