LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) - Several drivers on Teal Road had to present their information to officers running a checkpoint Friday night.
The checkpoint started around 9 p.m. on Teal Road at the Tippecanoe County Fairgrounds. Officers from Lafayette, West Lafayette and Purdue Police Departments were there.
Overall, 54 cars were pulled over in about an hour. Nobody was caught driving drunk. Police did make two arrests for never receiving a license and one for driving with a suspended license.
Across the state, officers said 32 checkpoints will going on this weekend. It's part of the "Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over" blitz going on in the month of March.
Two Tippecanoe County Commissioners, Tom Murtaugh and David Byers, accepted positions with the state.
