TIPPECANOE COUNTY, Ind. (WLFI) - Battery charges were upgraded to attempted murder for a man prosecutors said stabbed another man in June.
Prosecutors said Timothy Bowen was involved in a stabbing on Columbia Street in West Lafayette.
According to witnesses, the confrontation started when Bowen left a party with Pavel Borovikov's ex-girlfriend. They told police that Borovikov tried to confront Bowen at his apartment and that's when Bowen attacked him with a knife.
Borovikov was taken to St. Elizabeth East Hospital where a surgeon told police he nearly died because of blood loss.
Bowen faces several charges including attempted murder, battery and criminal recklessness.
This is not the first time Bowen has been involved in violent activity. According to court documents, he was convicted of criminal recklessness with a deadly weapon in 2010 and battery for a stabbing in 2009.
