WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) - A major Purdue-campus street is set to close this week for the construction of Bailey Hall.
According to Purdue project manager Jim Naville, a section of Grant Street will close from Monday through Friday.
The closed section will run from North Street to Northwestern Avenue and will allow crews to connect Purdue utilities from Knoy Hall to the Bailey Hall site across the street.
Naville says message boards will be placed Wednesday to notify drivers of the closure and detour routes will be posted.
You can detour by going west on State Street, north on University Street, and then east on Stadium Avenue to Northwestern. Naville says local traffic will still be able to access the drive north of Grissom Hall from Grant Street.
The Ralph and Bettye Bailey Hall will be the new home for Purdue Musical Organizations. Construction began this spring and is scheduled for completion in the summer or fall of 2014.

The drop in temperatures brings the potential for health dangers, such as hypothermia and frost bite. The bitter temperatures can pose a threat for children, adults and pets.
As it stands Wednesday, there will be no FEMA aid for tornado survivors in Howard County.
