WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) - A West Lafayette business held a ladies night Thursday to raise money for the YWCA.
Fleet Feet kicked off its first Diva Night. More than 70 ladies packed the store for the charitable event.
The night featured a silent auction, wine tasting and even a free massage.
Diva Night coordinator Fatima Addeeb says the event would not have been put on if it weren't for the community's help and donations.
"They're so happy to help. We're talking about items of value $250 and sometimes more. It's been fantastic and we've been really lucky. We're just glad to give back."
All proceeds from the event will go to the YWCA's breast cancer program.
Organizers hope to raise at least $500.
Food Finders unveiled a new online fundraising challenge that could raise an additional $40,000 towards feeding the hungry.
It was almost a year ago when Frankfort Police Chief Troy Bacon asked residents to report anything suspicious they see, especially drugs.
Pride Lafayette Inc. is commending the mayors of Lafayette and West Lafayette for their stance against a proposed constitutional ban of same-sex marriage. But other major community entities have yet to take a stand for or against it.
