WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) - Boilermaker fans had a chance to meet the Purdue football team at the Boilermaker Bridge Walk.
Led by Purdue Pete, cheerleaders, the Purdue pep band and the Boilermaker Special, the football team will walked across the John T. Myers Pedestrian Bridge Friday at 5:45 p.m. Saturday afternoon.
Dressed in their jerseys, the football team crossed the bridge with Boilermaker fans screaming and chanting along the way.
Local youth groups from around the area chose weekly marshals to walk with the team across the bridge.
Players passed out souvenirs to fans.
The home game walk across the bridge was followed by the Homecoming Parade which started at 8 p.m.
