LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) - Something straight out of an Alfred Hitchcock movie was behind a power outage Wednesday night at the Nine Irish Brothers on State Road 38 - birds.
Lafayette firefighters said witnesses saw about 50 birds gather on a power line in front of the restaurant. Witnesses saw a spark and firefighters said that burnt out a lead to Nine Irish.
One lane was closed on 38 while Duke Energy worked on the lines.
Firefighters said the spark fried the birds, causing many them to lose feathers. Several birds were stuck on the ground as a result.
