FOWLER, Ind. (WLFI) - The temperature outside may still be warm, but autumn is fast approaching and with it, the start of flu season.
The Benton County Health Department plans to hold flu vaccination clinics at the end of the month, beginning Wednesday, September 28, 2011. This drive-thru clinic will be located at Boswell Elementary School from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.
A walk-in clinic will be held Thursday, September 29 from 3:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the Fowler Senior Center.
A walk-in and drive-thru clinic will be held Friday, September 30 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Benton Central High School, in the Atha Gym at Door 17 (follow signs).
Any child with Medicaid, private insurance that doesn't cover vaccine, or who have no insurance are welcome and will be given a free shot covered through the Vaccines For Children program.
Children with insurance that covers vaccines and adults 19 years and older will be charged $15.00. No insurance is billed. Receipts will be given. Payment can be made by cash or check. Checks made payable to: Benton County Health Department, Patient Care Services.
Melinda Foley-Minks, RN, with the Patient Services division of the Benton County Health Department added they will be in all of the schools the final week of September and the health department is currently working on getting information home to parents.
