CLINTON COUNTY, Ind. (WLFI) - Autopsy results are in for the Clinton County inmate found dead in his cell Sunday afternoon.
Clinton County Coroner Amanda Abbott said 27-year-old Malcolm Adams died from asphyxiation from hanging. She said the autopsy showed no evidence of trauma or foul play.
The autopsy for Adams took place at 11 a.m. on Tuesday.
Adams was found unresponsive in his cell by a corrections officer Sunday around 4:45 p.m.
Clinton County Sheriff Jeff Ward said Adams was booked into the jail in July for theft. He said Adams had previously shown signs of suicidal thoughts, but had been cleared by a psychiatrist.
Indiana Governor Mike Pence (R) proposed a pre-K voucher program as part of his 2014 agenda. The program would give underprivileged children access to pre-K programs.
