FOUNTAIN COUNTY, Ind. (WLFI) - An Attica teacher has resigned and filed a claim of discrimination against Attica Consolidated School Corporation.
Superintendent Derek Marshall said teacher Beth Bass resigned August 2.
Marshall said he was notified by the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission a few weeks ago that Bass filed a complaint with their office. In it, Bass claims the school discriminated against her because of her age.
Bass was transferred from her sixth grade classroom to the junior-senior high school in January. At the time, some parents said they believed it was a retaliation move against Bass.
Marshall said it was a personnel matter and would not comment on the move.
