LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) - Lafayette-area veterans spend time telling their story so it can be on record at the Library of Congress.
It's all part of the Veterans History Project. Veterans met interviewers at the Hanna Center and recorded their service experiences.
David Hubbard served in the South Pacific during World War two and said while he never saw battle, every
"To hear all the guns go off and the bombs. You didn't know if that bullet was for you or someone else," said Hubbard.
The event was put on by US Senator Joe Donnelly's office. They will take today's recordings and others from around the state to the Library of Congress.
A shooting on Lafayette's south side is under investigation.
It's been nearly a month since a tornado damaged Southwestern Middle School and Mintonye Elementary School, giving faculty the task of helping students transition to their new surroundings.
Donations are being accepted to help around 300 seniors receive a holiday gift.
