INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (AP) - Central Indiana police say a 16-year-old boy has died after a stolen car he was riding in crashed during a police pursuit.
Brownsburg Police Department Det. Jennifer Pyatt-Barrett said the car carrying two 16-year-old boys crashed early Monday into a fire station on Indianapolis' northside, killing one of the boys.
She tells The Indianapolis Star the boys had been at a Bloomington, Ill., rehabilitation facility.
Indianapolis Fire Department spokeswoman Lt. Bonnies Hensley said the car's passenger died en route to an Indianapolis hospital.
Police said the driver was ejected from the vehicle and was in stable condition at that hospital.
The chase began in Brownsburg when an officer attempted to pull over the vehicle because its license plate light was out.
