TIPPECANOE COUNTY, Ind. (WLFI) - A Lafayette woman says she's guilty of paying her credit card bills by stealing tens of thousands of dollars from her job.
Fifty-four-year-old Cynthia Prien is charged with nearly a dozen felonies, including theft, forgery and corrupt business influence.
Prosecutors say she stole more than $30,000 from Craft Mechanical Contractors.
She allegedly forged checks and deposited them in various credit card accounts over several years.
Sentencing for Prien is scheduled for May 31.
A shooting on Lafayette's south side is under investigation.
It's been nearly a month since a tornado damaged Southwestern Middle School and Mintonye Elementary School, giving faculty the task of helping students transition to their new surroundings.
Donations are being accepted to help around 300 seniors receive a holiday gift.
