MUNCIE, Ind. (WISH) - For the first time, 24-Hour News 8 heard from a relative of a woman jailed in Delaware County. She told us she is shocked her sister would try to abduct a tiny infant.
Judith Walker is accused of wrapping a cord around a woman's neck this past week and demanding her to hand over her 3-week-old baby. But the woman fought back, escaping with her child. She then called police.
Walker's sister, Jeannetta Presley, spoke with 24 Hour News 8's Adrienne Broaddus Monday. Presley says her sister doesn't have children, but recently hinted she was going to adopt.
"She had called everyone and said she was adopting a baby and um, I thought, really? She said, 'yeah,' its through Child Protective Services... something about the parents died or something," Presley said.
Presley also told police her sister had purchased maternity clothes and even a pregnant belly. Those are just some of the details found in the court documents.
