WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) - The Purdue Police Department is digging into an investigation after several thefts were reported Monday and Tuesday at the campus recreational sports center.
Purdue police say items, including wallets and cell phones, were reported missing from locker rooms at the France A. Córdova Recreational Sports Center.
Three of these thefts were reported at about 5:30 p.m. Monday and the fourth at roughly 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, according to Purdue police Lt. Fred Davis.
"The items taken were in unsecured lockers, and we encourage everyone to lock and to use high-quality locks to protect their personal belongings," Davis said. "As we move into spring, more people will be out and about, and it's important to keep personal items in secure lockers, drawers or cabinets."
Officers are also investigating reports of vandalism to blue emergency call lights placed around campus. Police received reports on March 11 of damaged lights near Stewart Center, the Krannert building and the University Street and Marstellar parking garages.
