PENDLETON, Ind. (WISH) - A prison nurse was arrested Wednesday after she allegedly performed sexual acts on an inmate.
24-Hour News 8 news partner The Herald Bulletin reports on April 21, Colette Ficklin, 39, of Beech Grove, convinced a Pendleton Correctional Facility inmate to fake chest pains so they could be alone, police say.
Court documents say a correctional officer told internal affairs officers that she witnessed Ficklin and an inmate engaging in sexual deeds in the prison's infirmary.
Ficklin was working as a contracted nurse for Corizon, a local health care provider. Her contract has since been terminated.
She turned herself in to the Madison County Jail on Wednesday on a preliminary charge of sexual misconduct between a service provider and a detained person, a Class C felony.
She posted a $10,000 bond and was released Wednesday.
