LAFAYETTE - Reports of shots fired sparked a Lafayette police investigation in the Cambridge Estates apartment complex.
Officers said several witnesses heard the shots fired around 5 p.m. on Sudbury Court Friday. Investigators said they found several shell casings in two different locations. They gathered statements from neighbors and witnesses. They even took some pictures of cars in the parking lot.
Police said three to four black males ran away from the scene and another black male got away in a vehicle. Officer Matt Wilkerson said nobody was injured during the incident. He said no traces of blood were found. He also said after searching for nearly an hour and a half, police were unable to find bullet marks.
Wilkerson said investigators have interviewed one suspect but are still seeking the others. No arrests have been made at this time.
