WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) - Two people are behind bars after a massive drug bust by the Lafayette Street Crimes Unit.
Chris McCaster and Nina Ricketts were locked up last Friday, after a traffic stop led to the discovery of a major drug stash.
The initial bust happened at US 52 and County Road 400 in West Lafayette.
Here is what a drug-sniffing dog discovered:
- 38 grams of crack
- 5 grams of pure heroin
- 7 grams of marijuana
- 15 ecstasy pills.
A search of the room where the pair was staying turned up an additional 11 grams of powder cocaine and 9 grams of crack.
Both McCaster and Ricketts remain in the Tippecanoe County Jail.
An officer in the Street Crimes Unit said the drugs have a street value of almost $13,000.
