MONTICELLO, Ind. (WLFI) - A White County woman gets a four year sentence for her role in a murder, but won't have to serve any more time in prison.
Lashea Ramsey of Monticello pleaded guilty to helping Ray Chamorro kill Tye Rentfrow.
White County Prosecutor Bob Guy says Ramsey was Chamorro's girlfriend and drove him back to Chicago along with another defendent Alexandria Chapman after the murder in Oct. 2012. Guy tells News 18 that Ramsey's testimony was instrumental in Chamorro's conviction.
Ramsey received a four year sentence with credit for time served and the rest on probation.
Chapman has a sentencing hearing set for Friday morning.
It's been nearly a month since a tornado damaged Southwestern Middle School and Mintonye Elementary School, giving faculty the task of helping students transition to their new surroundings.
There were several two hour delays for area schools Thursday morning. As of Thursday evening, there are none for Friday morning.
Donations are being accepted to help around 300 seniors receive a holiday gift.
