MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Ind. (WLFI) - A shooting late Sunday night in Montgomery County drew Indiana State Police (ISP) troopers and county crews to the scene and sent one man to the hospital.
According to ISP, a 911 hang-up at roughly 10 p.m. led crews to a residence at 4283 S. County Road 775 East in New Ross, Ind.
The call was reporting a gun shot.
When investigators arrived they found 24-year-old Christopher W. Givans of New Ross with a gunshot wound.
ISP says Givans had been visiting the above residence when 35-year-old Elisha M. Arthur of New Ross drove to where Givans was staying, and got into a physical fight with him.
ISP says at some point it is alleged Arthur pulled a handgun and shot Givans one time and left the residence.
Givans was taken to St. Clare Medical Center in Crawfordsville, Ind., and later airlifted to St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis with non-life threatening injuries.
Arthur was later located and taken into custody without incident, according to ISP. This is an ongoing investigation.
