FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) - More than a dozen arrests were made in a prostitution sweep across Fort Wayne Tuesday.
FWPD Sergeant Jonathan Bowers said in a statement early Wednesday morning that detectives focused on several massage parlors and hotels resulting in more than a dozen arrests for prostitution and patronizing a prostitute.
Bowers did not provide information on business names or locations.
Names of those arrested have not been provided and were not immediately available.
Bowers said in a statement agents also recovered $2,000 in money used by suspects during the act of their crimes.
Vice and Narcotics worked with the Allen County Health Department in providing free STD testing for suspects during the investigations.
Bowers said the enforcement is part of an ongoing effort to prevent crime and the potential for human trafficking and sexually-transmitted diseases that accompany prostitution related crimes.
