DELPHI, Ind. (WLFI) - Court documents reveal more about a man, his ex-wife, and his girlfriend who were arrested as part of a child molestation case in Carroll County. A 4-year-old and a 7-year-old were involved.
According to court documents, on Aug. 12, an investigator with the Department of Family Services notified the Carroll County Sheriff's Office there were two children at the Pulaski Memorial Hospital who had allegedly been molested in Delphi.
After interviews with the two children, the 4-year-old told investigators that Eric Bane, 29, had intercourse with her. Documents said the 7-year-old told investigators Bane made her perform another sex act.
Bane was charged with three counts of child molesting.
Prosecutors filed three charges against Rita Bane, Eric Bane's ex-wife, including child molesting and aiding child molesting.
Court documents said she encouraged the 7-year-old to have sex with Eric Bane. She also told investigators she sat on the bed while her ex-husband had intercourse with the child.
Officers said Rita Bane told the child it was okay and that it was Eric Bane's way of "showing love."
Ashley Rawson, Eric Bane's girlfriend, told police she saw Eric Bane having sexual relations with the 4-year-old. She also said he had admitted having oral sex with the 7-year-old.
She faces three criminal charges, including two counts of aiding child molesting.
Eric Bane, Rita Bane, and Rawson are being held in the Carroll County Jail on $100,000 bonds.
Eric Bane is slated to have a pretrial conference on Sept. 27. Rita Bane and Rawson's pretrial conference is slated for Oct. 11. All three are set to have a jury trial on Nov. 18.
