VEEDERSBURG, Ind. (WLFI) - Fountain County authorities arrested a 19-year-old man accused of robbing a convenience store early Wednesday morning.
Sheriff Bill Sanders says Roland Williams IV robbed the Casey's General Store in Veedersburg just after 5 a.m. He says a deputy arrived right as Williams was leaving and chased him west on U.S. 136 for about a mile until Williams crashed his car.
Sanders says the deputy tried to use his stun gun on Williams but it had no effect. Williams then tried to carjack two vehicles driving by, but was finally stopped by a K-9 officer.
Williams faces six preliminary charges including felony intimidation and sexual battery for his actions at the convenience story.
Sanders asks that the other victim of the attempted carjacking come forward so additional charges can be pursued.
