President says lay-offs due to economy

The national financial crisis has hit White County. A semi trailer maker in Monon laid off 52 people. The President of Vanguard National Trailer Corporation said his company was forced to make the temporary cuts because of the economy. Charles Mudd said the employees were informed of the decision last Thursday due to a decrease in demand for equipment.
