Colts make progress at camp

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) - Colts coach Chuck Pagano has been so happy what he's seen at training camp, he ended Friday's final practice about an hour earlier than scheduled.

The feature attraction at Anderson University has been Andrew Luck, the new franchise quarterback. Luck was impressive throughout camp and even more impressive in last weekend's 38-3 preseason victory over St. Louis.

But the star Friday was Pat McAfee, who missed a 59-yard field goal that would have ended practice, then made a 38-yarder to close out training camp.

Throughout the past three weeks, Pagano and his staff have been installing a new offense and a new 3-4 hybrid defense.

Pagano says the Colts accomplished what he wanted to, a sentiment reflected by many players, too.
