LOUISVILLE, Ky. (CNN/WHAS) - Surveillance video captured some dramatic moments in a Kentucky courtroom as an inmate tried to escape custody.

A Jefferson County official said the suspect had already appeared before the judge when he attacked a deputy. So he was being kept in a holding cell.

But when police tried to get another inmate out of the same holding cell, the suspect charged the door and pushed another deputy back.

The two stumbled into a courtroom, where court officers quickly piled on the inmate.

Now, the suspect is facing attempted escape and assault charges.

Police have not released his name or initial charges.
