COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (AP) — Colorado Springs police are asking the public to return any money they received after they arrested a man accused in a string of crimes that ended with him handing out money in a hotel lobby.

Police say a sporting goods store reported a man with a shotgun was trying to obtain another weapon Wednesday afternoon when a shot was fired. The man left after a struggle.

About 20 minutes later, a bank robbery was reported. Police then started receiving calls that a suspect was throwing money out his car window and later he started handing out money in a downtown hotel lobby.

Police have arrested 26-year-old David Anderson on suspicion of aggravated robbery and attempted robbery.
