TOPSFIELD, Mass. (CNN/WBZ) - Growers in Massachusetts had "pumpkin envy" just looking at the gourd that broke a world record.
The giant pumpkin weighed in at 2,009 pounds.
Ron Wallace, the pumpkin's owner, says that during peak growth, the vegetables can grow 40 pounds per week.
Wallace won more than $15,000 for his large pumpkin, which crushed the previous record holder that weighed in at more than 1,843 pounds.
