KEARNEY, Neb. (AP) - Police have arrested a man suspected of taking people hostage at a southern Nebraska bank.
Television station KHAS-TV reports the man came out of the Wells Fargo Bank branch in Kearney and was taken into custody about 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, more than two hours after the ordeal began.
A photo on the Kearney Hub newspaper's Web site shows a man coming out of the bank with his hands in the air.
No shots had been reported during the hostage situation, but other details remain unclear.
A spokeswoman for Nebraska's Wells Fargo branches, Angie Kaipust, said earlier Wednesday that there was a hostage situation at the Kearney branch. She says the bank is cooperating with authorities but declined to provide more details.
Kearney is about 185 miles west of Omaha.
