SAN ANTONIO (AP) - A man who tried to visit the Fort Hood shooting suspect in a San Antonio military hospital after falsely claiming to be his attorney has been released from federal custody.

Senan Kahtan Abrahem was indicted last week on a federal charge of making a false statement.

FBI and military officials said they took a hard look at Abrahem after he told officers to shoot him when they denied him access to Maj. Nidal Hasan, who's been charged with 13 counts of murder in the November shooting at the Texas Army post near Killeen.

During a hearing Monday, the judge released Abrahem on an unsecured bond after learning that he has resumed taking medication for his bipolar disorder, does not appear to be a flight risk and did not harm anyone, the San Antonio Express-News reported.
