UPPER ARLINGTON, Ohio (CNN/WCMH) - A teacher in Ohio is using an unconventional method that he says is lighting kids' imaginations on fire.
Pete Kaser removed all of the toys from his classroom and replaced them with raw materials, including cardboard boxes. And what he discovered surprised even him.
"Not one of them complained about not having a toys and it was actually really cool because some of the quieter kids actually got to show leadership roles in projects," said Kaser. "Kids who had trouble separating from their parents in the morning or just were quieter in the classroom... we have actually seen them become leaders and seen them grow."
