EVANSVILLE, Ind. (CNN/WEHT/WTVW) - A Halloween pumpkin carving experiment went very wrong on live TV in Indiana.
Jason Lindsey, known as the "Hooked on Science Guy," was trying to demonstrate how you can use a small explosion to carve a pumpkin.
Here's how it was supposed to go: he pre-cut the eyes, nose and mouth of the pumpkin and filled it with a chemical formula.
Once the gas built up inside the pumpkin, he ignited it with a lighter and the eyes, nose and mouth were supposed to pop right out.
He apparently allowed the pumpkin to fill up with too much gas so when he lit it with the lighter, it exploded.
No one was hurt.
