ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (CNN, BAY NEWS 9) - No double-take necessary. This duck is living with an arrow stuck through its head.

Neighbors say the duck has been living this way for six months or so.

One reason the duck is hard to catch is because it stays in a retention pond area surrounded by a fence. When it does leave the pond area, it is skittish of people and doesn't appear to want any help.

Those who regularly see the duck hope someone will come out and help remove the arrow and tend to the duck.
