Wardrobe | Becoming the best You

Begin a personal journey to your best self

INDIANAPOLIS - I’m starting 2012 off with a new personal endeavor. One of the best contributors for Wardrobe, image consultant Sola Adelowo, has generously offered to help me get myself together. And I’ll be documenting all the gory details.

Over the course of the next few months, I’ll be sharing my experiences through this process. The goals are unilateral to many of us who are looking to brand ourselves in this ever-changing social landscape: casual, corporate or otherwise.

Adelowo, who you may remember from previous Wardrobe content, founded ImageCube, an Indianapolis-based image management company.

Imagecube’s goal is to help “individuals and companies uncover an authentic personal or corporate image; it is not about what's 'hot' - it is about creating an authentic representation of who you are or your corporate brand image.”

Through my experiences with Sola, I’ll be sharing with you the discovery process that will help hone not only my outward appearance, but also help me rediscover things I may have forgotten.

I’m focusing on learning new ways to manipulate my personal style, using trends and enhancing the things I want showcase and maybe rethinking those items that hold me back. In turn, I’ll be looking for ways to share advice to you.

No, it is not all about ME! It really is about giving EVERYONE tips, ideas and helpful advice on being the best “You” inside and out.

I’ll also be using some helpful apps to keep track of some things. For more details, click the link below to see the full interactive.

Photos: 10 apps for keeping your resolutions

  • Lose It!: This app pairs with its website, helping you track your daily meals, exercise and activity. With social media integration, you can share your progress.
  • Fooducate: A great app for shopping. Scans barcodes to give you nutritional information so you can compare while shopping.
  • RunKeeper: Keeps track of your exercise and maps your route with your phone’s built in GPS. You can also photo-document your run or walk and share details with friends via social media integration.
