Krispy Kreme turns 75

Now nearly 700 shops in 21 countries

(CNN) - Pass the glazed donuts. Friday, Krispy Kreme celebrates its 75th anniversary.

The pastry shop got its start in Winston-Salem, N.C. on July 13, 1937.

Since then, it's grown to nearly 700 shops in 21 countries, and 10,000 merchants and grocery stores.

The doughnut company will be celebrating its special day with a deal for customers.

According to the Krispy Kreme website, if you buy a dozen doughnuts at participating locations Friday, you can get a dozen Original Glazed for 75 cents.
