DENVER, CO. (WLFI - blog) - We got off to an early start this morning leaving Grenada, Mississippi. Again it was very hot going to Sparta, TN. Only stopping quick enough to get fuel and take a restroom break, we were back in the plane going direct to Jacksonville, IL. This was the longest of the three legs being 315nm and we were exhausted. From there we went to Racine, WI where we were favorites, being the northernmost school competing. We were so tired coming into Racine, neither of us could go on anymore. We totaled 775nm for the day and are staying the night in Wisconsin.
We heard there were two teams who went onto Atlantic to finish and there were 23 who stayed here in Racine. After waiting awhile at the airport for a ride to the hotel, we dropped off our things and went to dinner. We ate at a restaurant on Lake Michigan, which was beautiful. We were joined by two girls from Embry Riddle in Arizona, who by the way had never had nor heard of cheese curds, so we had to get some while in America’s Dairyland! They were really nice and we got to talk about each of our schools and experiences we have had. We have had some time to relax and watch some TV before going to bed. There is only one more leg left, which is our longest, until we reach our destination in Atlantic, Iowa. Thanks for sticking with us this far!
